Raul Castro Dismisses Ambassador to Saint Kitts and Nevis
HAVANA TIMES — President Raul Castro has dismissed the Cuban ambassador to Saint Kitts and Nevis, reported the Gaceta Oficial on Tuesday. The action came on request from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
The Council of State decided to remove the status as Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Saint Kitts and Nevis from Jorge Desiderio Payret Zubiaur for “deficient work results in the performance of his duties.”
The document didn’t specify the reasons for the decision, but a source close to MINREX told the Café Fuerte website that there had been serious complaints from doctors working in that country about the assistance offered by the Cuban embassy.
Payret Zubiaur was appointed as ambassador to the Caribbean country in November 2009.
