HAVANA TIMES, March 20 — Cuban actor Reynaldo Miravalles, who lives in the United States, traveled to Cuba this week for the shooting of the movie Esther en alguna parte, directed by Gerardo Chijona, reported the Café Fuerte website.
Miravalles, 89, will star in the Cuban-Peruvian co-production based on a novel by Eliseo “Lichy” Alberto, who died in Mexico last year.
“It’s a film that doesn’t have the least bit of politics. It’s about an emotional situation between two men, like a duel between the two main characters,” said the actor to Café Fuerte.
This will be Miravalles’ first film in Cuba in 20 years, since he appeared in the controversial Alicia en el pueblo de Maravillas (1991), though he has traveled to the island in the past.
