Roberto Fonseca to Release CD in France

HAVANA TIMES — With a concert set for Wednesday at the legendary Olympia Theater in Paris, Cuban pianist Roberto Fonseca will present his new album “Yo,” released under the Jazz Village label, reports AFP.

“I like hip hop, rock and mariachi, plus I love Bach, European classical composers, electronic music and techno. So the challenge of this album was to integrate all that music and move them in a single direction,” said Fonseca in an interview.

The former member of the Buena Vista Social Club, though only 37, will perform in early August in French festivals in Marciac and Strasbourg before beginning a tour of the major festivals this fall.
