Talks in Cuba on Caribbean Integration

HAVANA TIMES, Dec. 8 — The fifth international conference “Where Is Caribbean Integration Heading” will take place today and tomorrow in the Cuban capital.

Organized by the University of Havana, the event has gathered scholars from Argentina, Canada, Colombia, Cuba, the United States, France, Jamaica, Mexico and Trinidad and Tobago, who will reflect on regional unity from varying political, social and economic perspectives.

The event is in keeping with the 39 years of relations between Cuba and the CARICOM nations. It also coincides with the opening today in Trinidad and Tobago of the Fourth CARICOM-Cuba Summit, a triennial mechanism of political exchange and cooperation.
