UN Special Rapporteur Outlines How Israel Is Committing Genocide in Gaza

By Democracy Now

HAVANA TIMES – On Tuesday, UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese accused Israel of committing acts of genocide. She spoke in Geneva about her major new report.

Francesca Albanese: “Following nearly six months of unrelenting Israeli assault on occupied Gaza, it is my solemn duty to report on the worst of what humanity is capable of and to present my finding, ‘The Anatomy of a Genocide.’ History teaches us that genocide is a process, not a single act. It starts with the dehumanization of a group as other and the denial of that group’s humanity, and ends with the destruction of the group in all or in part. The dehumanization of Palestinians as a group is the hallmark of their history of ethnic cleansing, dispossession and apartheid.”

  • John: You forgot to add that most Palestinians will have to be annihilated as colateral damage in war time. If there are survivors they could certainly be slaves in a one state solution,

  • Oh my, Israel is attacking Hamas relentlessly for 6 months! Hamas has been relentlessly attacking civilians in Israel for 50 years. For 50 years Israeli children have listened to the siren that warns them that they have 15 seconds to dive into the bunker in the corner of the play ground. Schools have to have guard towers with armed snipers to ward off suicide bombers and keepa eye in the sky for attacks from above. Jordan and Egypt have unscaleable walls to keep Hamas and Hezbollah from coming into their countries. They are trouble everywhere the go. Hamas and Hezbollah must be annihilated.
