Wife of Agent Gross Pleads to Castro

HAVANA TIMES, Oct. 25 — July Gross, wife of US agent Alan Gross, asked Cuban President Raúl Castro to release her husband, detained on the island since December 2009, to care for their daughter diagnosed with cancer last August. Gross also criticized President Barack Obama for not having shown an interest in the case. The employee of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) is accused by the Cuban authorities of carrying out espionage work, reported IPS.
