One of Nicaragua’s Political Prisoners Writes: “Don’t Abandon the Struggle!”
Letter from jail
HAVANA TIMES – Hello once again. I greet you hoping that you’re all healthy – emotionally, spiritually, psychologically, and morally. In all of these areas, I feel well, since together we’ve managed to overcome certain difficulties.
On March 1st, I sent another note that apparently didn’t arrive. In any case, I want to take advantage of this medium to request certain specific things, and of course to send strength to those who miss me and those who need it. It’s hard to be missing you all the time and not be able to touch you as is desired.
These seven months have served greatly to discover some very sad things about some individual Nicaraguans, and to give incalculable motives to do our best for a needed change to the current system. I feel a great obligation not to abandon the struggle for cultural, educational, economic, political and conventional development.
Only the good can work to keep evil from triumphing, [but] we who are good are equally guilty if we don’t do anything to combat what is wrong. Hang in there, those who are reading this, and act selflessly and empathetically towards making a positive difference.
Warm hugs and sweet kisses to all those who have kept my name in their concerns and good intentions.
We’ll see each other soon,
#FuerzaNicaragua
