Angolan Dance Troupe at Cuba Book Fair

HAVANA TIMES – The Contemporary Dance Company of Angola performed last weekend at the Mella Theater in Havana, as part of its activities in Cuba by the African country that is the guest of honor of the XXII International Cuba Book Fair 2013.

The show entitled “Conducive Landscapes” is inspired by the work of Ruy Duarte de Carvalho, whose universe encompasses a broad spectrum of artistic production, ranging from literature to photography, from drawing to film, and is a rich source of creative material.

With the choreography by Rui Lopes Graça and artistic direction from Ana Clara Guerra Marques, the company has taken on the challenge to adapt the gestures that reveal themselves gradually to the condition of the images taken from his writings, his films, his designs, his pictures, field journals and his gaze, states the performance program.
