HAVANA TIMES, January 2 – The Cuban Baseball Season resumes after an end of year break on Saturday and Sunday (Jan. 3-4). In the Western Division, Metropolitanos goes on the road against Pinar del Rio; Isla de la Juventud hosts Matanzas; Sancti Spiritus travels to Cienfuegos and in a match of the top teams, Industriales hosts La Habana.

In the East, Villa Clara hosts Camaguey in a match up of the first and third place teams; Ciego de Avila hosts Las Tunas; Holguin plays at home against Guantanamo and Granma awaits Santiago de Cuba.

A quarter of the way into the 90-game season the standings are as follows:
