Cuba to Take Six Triathletes to the Cancun World Cup
HAVANA TIMES — Cuba will be represented by six athletes at the Triathlon World Cup scheduled for October 7 in Cancun, Mexico, reported the weekly newspaper Jit on Thursday.
Leading the Cuban sextet will be the six-time national monarch and Central Caribbean Games multi-medalist Michel Gonzalez, accompanied by Yunior Rosette, Albert Piedra, Leslie Amat, Lisandra Hernandez and Ana Leydis Arias.
The latest numbers of entries in the tournament stand at 92 male and 56 female participants from 42 countries, who will be vying for medals in the 1,500 meter swim competition, the 40 km cycling event and the 10 km run.
