Cuban Hurdler Sets World Junior Record
HAVANA TIMES — Cuba’s Yordan Ofarrill was crowned world junior champion in the 110 meters hurdles on Thursday. He set an event record of 13.18 seconds at the Montjuic Stadium in Barcelona, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.
The Caribbean athlete beat out Australian Nicholas Hough and France’s Wilhelm Belocian in one of the most electrifying showings in this competition, highlighted the news note.
Ofarrill reversed his defeat two years ago at the first Youth Olympic Games, held in Singapore, where the runner came in only at fifth place, despite arriving at this event as the favorite.
