HAVANA TIMES — After losing 20-0 in its series opener to Ciego de Avila, Granma had two possible ways to go; total demoralization or start from scratch.
They chose the latter and rebounded to win 4-2 on Friday, holding their rivals to only four hits and one earned run.
The best-of-seven series for the Eastern Division title of the Cuban Baseball League now moves to Granma for games 3, 4 & 5. Saturday is a travel day with play resuming on Sunday.

Leandro Martinez pitched a gem, going eight innings of three-hit ball. Ciro Silvino Licea came on to get the save allowing one hit in the ninth.
Yander Guevara took the loss for Ciego allowing three of Granma’s runs over eight innings.
The Western Division title series between Industriales and Matanzas sees action on Saturday night at Havana’s Latinoamericano Stadium in the capital. The series is also tied at one game each.
