Gov. Imposes Fines in Santiago de Cuba
HAVANA TIMES, Feb. 16 – The Cuban authorities have imposed more than 20,000 fines over the last 13 months on those who have not complied with the hygienic-health regulations in the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba, as part of the drive to eradicate the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which transmits diseases such as dengue, reported IPS.
Santiago is Cuba’s second largest city (426,000) after the capital Havana (2.2 million).
