Can I bring my laptop to Cuba, and if so, what else should I be sure to have on hand?
- If you’re bringing a laptop computer, it’s a good idea to bring a basic surge protector for protection against occasional spikes in the country’s electrical supply. Even an inexpensive surge protector offers sufficient protection.
- Often it’s not easy to find CDs or DVDs readily available in Cuba, and when you do, they’re more expensive than overseas. If you think you’ll need some, and especially more specialized varieties, it’s best to bring a few with you.
- Flash drives are available in Cuba but at a much higher cost than outside the country. Again, you might want to bring your own – and even a few extra (2 GB are much appreciated) to give out as gifts.
