Today Last Game of Friendly Cuba-US Baseball Clash
HAVANA TIMES — With three wins and one defeat, the Cuban baseball team is heading back to Havana’s Latin American Stadium today for the last of five friendly games agreed to with US players.
The islanders will be playing knowing that they are already the winners of the series, having come out ahead in the second game (7-6), the third (9-8) and the fourth match (5-2) after only having lost the first contest (3-4).
“We managed to achieve our objective of winning the match, so I’m very happy with the results. Nonetheless, we will come out for our victory tomorrow,” said Cuban manager Victor Mesa on Sunday at a news conference after the game.
Today’s meeting will feature left-handed pitcher Carlos Rodon for the US team, and the right-hander Odrisamer Despaigne for the local squad.
