Cardinal Ortega Delivers Christmas Message
HAVANA TIMES — Havana Archbishop Jaime Ortega conveyed his Christmas message to the Cuban people on Thursday night during a concert at the Havana Cathedral.
According to the Prensa Latina news agency, the Catholic leader reminded people of the victims of Hurricane Sandy in Santiago de Cuba, Holguin and Guantanamo, adding, “They know how present they were and still are in our Christmas prayers.”
Ortega also expressed his pleasure in seeing “an improvement in economic indicators such as the growth of the GDP and the trade surplus, and we view as positive those steps taken to adapt the Cuban economic system to the current times.”
