Cuba’s “Pablo” Wins Best Director Award

HAVANA TIMES — Cuban filmmaker Yosmani Acosta won the Best Director award at the prestigious New York City International Film Festival on Friday for “Pablo”, his feature film shot in Camaguey.

The film also obtained the Best Supporting Actor award, bestowed on Omar Franco.

“Pablo” also received nominations in three other categories, Best Foreign Film, Original Story and Best Actor in a Leading Role, reported Prensa Latina.

“Pablo” was the first full-length movie by Acosta and the first made in the central Cuban province of Camaguey.
