Cuba Congress Opening in Pictures

HAVANA TIMES, April 16 — The long awaited 6th Congress of the ruling Communist Party of Cuba began on Saturday afternoon.  President Raul Castro, also the acting head of the Party, made the opening speech.

It came only hours after the conclusion of a massive military parade to commemorate the defeat of the 1961 Bay of Pigs invasion and rally support for the country’s top leaders in the face of today’s challenges.
