HT-Cuba Photo Contest Semifinalists

HAVANA TIMES, Aug. 1 — The jury for the 3rd HT Cuba Photo Contest concluded its selection process over the weekend.  A total of 19 jury members sent in their picks from eight countries.

Forty photographers participated in the contest by submitting over 300 pictures with prizes to be awarded for first and second place in each category plus a special mention.

When it came to the last round there were 13 photos remaining in each of the four categories (The Color Red in Cuba, Cuban Women, Cubans Working and Cuban Beaches).

The jury members picked their first, second and third place choices in each category in a 10, 5, 3 point system.

To give you readers a chance to make your choices, today we are publishing the semifinalists, between 24-28 photos per category.  On Wednesday we will publish the 13 finalists in each category (from among the semifinalists) followed by the winners on Friday.

Have a look at those photos making it to the second round (semifinals) in the following order by category:  The Color Red in Cuba, Cuban Women, Cubans Working & Cuban Beaches.
