Chavez Leaves Cuba, Back in Caracas

HAVANA TIMES, March 16 —Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez returned home to Caracas on Friday afternoon after his initial recovery from new surgery in Cuba to remove a cancerous tumor on February 28.

“I had lunch with Fidel.  He sends a huge greetings to the people of Venezuela…  Raul came to the airport to say goodbye and also sends his greetings,” said Chavez.

After his initial recovery, the charismatic leader has announced he will undergo radiotherapy to try and prevent a return of any cancerous cells.

Chavez is seeking another term in office in the October 7, presidential elections.
