Cuba’s Sara Gonzalez Is Recovering

HAVANA TIMES, Sept. 18 — Popular Cuban singer-songwriter Sara Gonzalez is recovering from surgery at the CIMEQ hospital in Havana.  She wrote a message for the press to communicate with her many friends, acquaintances and admirers.

“I am hospitalized since the day I already forgot because I want to.  I had colon surgery and now its up to me to recover with the help of the marvelous people who are taking care of me at CIMEQ.

“I promise to be disciplined, humble, tolerant and all that is needed to recover my strength, which above all I obtain from you… and I will recover to be able to bring you in songs and actions efforts to benefit culture in our country…

“I will take to heart your good thoughts to get better in order to return with quality of life which I have already learned to value and I will try to practice.

“Much thanks for your affection.
