Cuba and Russian Presidents Meet Today

HAVANA TIMES — Cuban President Raul Castro, who is currently on a working visit in Russia, will hold a meeting today at the Kremlin with President Vladimir Putin, reported ITAR TASS this morning.

“The priorities of the dialogue will focus on increasing and diversifying trade, whose volume does not match the potential of Russian-Cuban relations,” said the deputy head of the Russian state, Yuri Ushakov.

Special attention will be given to promoting key projects in transportation, space travel, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals and other fields, according to Ushakov.

Kremlin officials recalled that this past July 6 marked 110 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Cuba.
