Cuba-Bahamas Maritime Border Agreement in Force

HAVANA TIMES, March 19 — An agreement delimiting maritime boundaries between Cuba and the Bahamas came into force on March 9, read a statement from the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday.

The pact was signed in October 2011 and will allow for cooperation in the operation and management of living and non-living marine resources in the area, according to the Prensa Latina news agency

With the dividing line between the two countries defined, the limits of the territorial sea have been determined, including the exclusive economic zones and continental shelves between the two parties, indicates ministry web site, www.cubaminrex.cu.
