Cuba Faces Germany in World Volleyball League
HAVANA TIMES – The men’s teams of Cuba and Germany will hold two meetings on Saturday and Sunday in the German city of Bremen, as part of the XXIV World Volleyball League, JIT Online reported.
The German coach, Vital Heynen, has not yet announced his 12 players for the series against Cuba. He declared that the island “is still a good team, we like to play them and hope to get at least one win.”
A press release from the FIVB analyzed that the Cuban squad has lost its world class status in both attack and service and recalled the victories of the Germans against the Cuban team, eliminating the islanders in both the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.
Cuba does not have on its current team two of its main attackers Wilfredo Leon and Henry Bell.
