HAVANA TIMES — The fifth edition of extreme rock music festival “Brutal Fest 2013” will take place from February 14 to 24 on the island, where it will feature five foreign bands, reports the official newspaper Juventud Rebelde.

The festival will feature the groups Inferia (from Finland), Hexis (Denmark), Worn Out and From Asylum (both from France), and Bagheera (Switzerland). Local bands scheduled to participate include Combat Noise, Escape, The Shepal and Ancestro, along with groups from other provinces.

The festival’s kick-off is scheduled for February 14 and 15 at 8:00 in the evening at Havana’s Maxim Rock theater. The musicians will then take to the road to give concerts in Cienfuegos, Santa Clara, Camaguey and Matanzas provinces, to later conclude in Havana again on February 24.

A second part of this year’s event will take part in August under the name “Brutal Summer Fest.”
