Cuban Exiles in Spain Demand Release of Dissident

HAVANA TIMES — The Observatorio Cubano de Derechos Humanos, made up of Cuban exiles living in Spain, on Wednesday demanded the release of dissident Antonio Rodiles, who was arrested last week in Havana, reported EFE.

In a statement, the organization condemned “the increase in violence against people exercising their rights of assembly and peaceful demonstration” and the “arbitrary arrests of a large number of pro-democracy activists.”

Rodiles, the head of the Estado de SATS organization, was arrested with 27 other dissidents last week as part of a wave of arrests triggered by protests against the arrest of opposition lawyer Yaremis Flores.
