HAVANA TIMES — Following its Cuban cinematographic release last week, the film La pelicula de Ana, by Cuban filmmaker Daniel Diaz Torres, will launch a major international tour of film festivals, reported Prensa Latina.
It’s anticipated that the film will be included in festivals in Shanghai (China) and Locarno (Switzerland) during the first half of the year. It is then expected to continue its journey through several other competitions. The movie was awarded for having the best screenplay and the best actress at the most recent Havana Film Festival.
According to the director, the basic objective of the film is to make the audience reflect in a natural manner through the use of humor and ironic overtones. It’s a story in which Ana, who the mask of a prostitute, speaks truths that would otherwise be difficult to express.
