Cuban Schools to Include Agricultural Studies

HAVANA TIMES, Jan 18 — The introduction of agricultural education in all schools and teaching universities across the country is the focus of a three-day workshop taking place in the central province of Villa Clara, reported the Granma newspaper today.

The event is being attended by educators and administrators from across the country and who will be responsible for implementing the curriculum guidelines generated by the gathering.

Through this program, the Cuban government is seeking to create a “producer mindset” among the present and future young generations to ensure the food security required by the country, which is currently suffering serious shortages and high prices for agricultural products.
