Cuban & US Scientists Meet in Havana

HAVANA TIMES, Dec 12 — Scientists from Cuba and the US will be meeting in Havana from today until Friday to identify possibilities for cooperation in the fields of biology, the environmental sciences and general technology.

The meeting, coordinated by the Academy of Sciences of Cuba (ACC) and the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences, is being attended by some 40 researchers and heads of research centers from the two countries.

During the gathering, specific projects will be discussed with the aim of generating a report on the possibilities for collaborative work. In addition, trends and activities will be evaluated that “may create new knowledge to help meet urgent priorities,” according to the ACC.
