French Entrepreneurs Seeking Business in Cuba

HAVANA TIMES, March 7 — A delegation from the “Movement of French Enterprises” (MEDEF), attended a business forum with Cuban officials and island entrepreneurs on Tuesday at the Hotel Parque Central in the capital.

All those in attendance were seeking to strengthen trade ties and identify business opportunities in Cuba, which was why the delegation included representatives from the tourism, construction, transportation, energy, agriculture and sugar sectors.

According to a report from Prensa Latina, MEDEF president Pierre Pringuet said the current environment in Cuba, Latin America and globally is favorable to promoting trade and business.

France is Cuba’s fourth largest European trading partner, from which the island imports mainly wheat, additives for lubricants, mechanical parts and accessories, while exporting cigars, lobsters, and rum.
