Havana Weather for Sept. 29 – Oct. 5
Temperatures to go down slightly
By Eduardo
The influence of a continental anti-cyclonic migratory movement will cause a slight decline in temperatures for the next several days. Isolated rains are expected, especially after Sunday.
Maximum temperatures will fluctuate around 31°C (88°F) and the minimum temperatures will stay close to 23°C (73°F).
Winds will be mainly from the north until Monday, when they will begin rotating in a northeast direction for the rest of the period.
The sea surface temperature will be 30°C (86°F).
The center of Tropical Depression Ophelia is at 18.7°N 59.9°W at some 2400 km (1496 miles) from Havana and moving in a northwest direction at a speed of 80 km/h (50 mph). This represents no danger to Cuba.
The center of the Tropical Storm Philippe is at 16.4°N 38.8°W at a distance of 4600 km (2860 miles) from Havana. Trajectory models predict movement toward the northwest and later toward the west over the next few days. Attention should be paid to the evolution of this phenomenon over the next several days.
No tropical cyclonal developments are expected in the rest of the Atlantic Ocean, the Caribbean Sea or the Gulf of Mexico in the next 24 to 48 hours.
