King Trump: Migrants “Very Happy” with Situation in US Migrant Jails

HAVANA TIMES – Donald Trump dismissed widespread reports and video documentation of dire conditions for locked-up migrants over the weekend, saying many border facilities are “clean” and “run beautifully,” reported Democracy Now.

Trump: “In all cases, if you look, people that came from unbelievable poverty, that had no water—they had no anything where they came from—those are people that are very happy with what’s going on, because, relatively speaking, they’re in much better shape right now.”

On Sunday, he accused the media on Twitter of “phony and exaggerated accounts” of migrant detention centers, and again blamed Democrats for failing to enact more effective immigration policies—this despite recent congressional visits to migrant jails and multiple accounts of abuse recorded by legal and other experts.

  • Thank you John Bohannon for explaining why it is that the US has the highest level of incarceration in the whole wide world! I had previously believed the US statistics which demonstrate a distinct level of racism both in the duration of jail sentences and frequency. I had not realized that US conditions were so bad that people actually “climb the walls to get in” – is it the quality of food that attracts, or escaping from the US way of life?

  • The “American Jails” are the most unusual in the world, people climb walls to get in and if they don’t like it they can walk right out back into Mexico another capitalist country.

  • What a stupid comment.

  • Ha Ha Ha…
    Mr MacD, enjoyed your comment.
I must say, for all your labelling of Corbyn as a Marxist, it would seem to be your lot (the unruly Conservatives) who are dragging the good old UK into ever choppier waters.
I referred to the redoubtable Harold Wilson refusing to kow-tow to the USA on the matter of Vietnam
On the other hand, I could also refer to your good Mrs T who would no doubt be spinning in her grave at the very thought of anyone in the entire world choosing who they do or do not want as The Queen’s Ambassador to their country.
I regard myself as British, even though I have spent half my life outside of those isles. My forefathers hail from all four corners of the UK.
I do not take kindly to the (democratic?) representatives of the the UK kow-towing to trump in this way. Teresa May made sure to scuttle across the pond to hold truump’s hand and be the the first world leader to congratulate him.
Now he returns this favour by publicly insulting her.
For all Cuba’s serious faults, it’s leaders do not kow-tow to the USA or to a dick like trump in this desperately sad fashion.
It would seem that the UK has lost its way somewhat (led on by disreputable right wing politicians who seek to reduce any democratic regulation on their paymasters’ money-making ?).
One can only hope that corners are turned…..
If you are suggesting that 60% of the good people of Scotland got it right, then I would wholeheartedly agree.

  • The UK Nick is facing huge problems. A former Foreign Minister who was incompetent in that role, didn’t have either sufficient savvy or the guts, to support Darroch as Ambassador. It is always questionable whether people will change their behaviour when holding positions of responsibility. Can a buffoon born in the US suddenly become sensible upon becoming Prime Minister, or will he be a mere cats-paw for a narcissistic bully boy and acquiesce or even pander to the “inept” wishes of that bully?
The consequences of Brexit are such that the buffoon will sell the UK’s morality to get a “great, fantastic” trade deal with the bully boy. You may have noted also the expectations that the UK will get a trade deal with Canada similar to the one between the EU and Canada. I can tell you that in negotiations, Canada will raise the problem of the UK failing to pay increments on the pensions of those who made their payments
into the NI system and who live in retirement in Canada. If they live in the EU or the US they get the increments. The UK even defended their decision in the European Court.
So what is the alternative for the UK? The Labour Party decided to abandon their former policies in favour of adopting those of a known Marxist Jeremy Corbyn, who has led that Party into an anti-semitic morass. In due course there will be a General Election – and all you folks will have to take a critical decision. I don’t envy you!
Scotland not only voted Remain (by over 60%), but dislikes the buffoon – who claims he can “unite the Country” – without defining whether he means the UK or merely England. But Corbyn is equally disliked and another referendum lurks. If deciding upon independence and rejoining the EU, what will the position be on the border – up-dating of Hadrian’s Wall?
You are right Nick, it is a great shame and the term “brown-nose” is appropriate, but English voters carried the day in the referendum and will pay the price. Who knows where employment levels, average incomes and GDP will go?
    Hope I am overly pessimistic!

  • Mr MacD,
The British Ambassador was merely stating the obvious.
However in doing this, and it being leaked due to internal British politics, he has been forced to quit.
When I look at what goes on in in the UK these days I see a sad reflection of former glories.
Gone are the days when a British leader, faced with U.S. bribery, refused to commit troops to the invasion of Vietnam.
Nowadays British politicians (and prospective leaders) seem to be engaging in a trump-brown-nosing-competition.
    It’s a great shame.

  • Kelly, really? Their shitty countries? Get off your superior horse a moment will you. You have no Great Nation – the US is as shitty as any other. Shittier in many ways – don’t those illegal aliens work for pennies so that you can get cheap food, pay cleaners peanuts, build your brash skyscrapers using their labour. It works both ways you know.

  • Kelly,
Your anger has confused your geography……………
America is not a country it is a continent.
Obviously you have a big superiority complex as you describe other parts of the continent as ‘shitty’.

  • Despot behavior is like that.

  • The real issue is what determines an asylum seeker.

  • It is self-evident that the British Ambassador to the US was guilty of understatement when he described the Trump administration of being “inept”. US CNN TV has shown pictures of the conditions in the US detention centres and a series of representatives of social organizations, Members of Congress have reported upon their personal observations – which have consistently confirmed the appalling conditions. But, the US chose to elect a liar and can expect little else other than more lies.

  • America and Americans welcome actual immigrants but not illegal aliens. Those in detainment camps are still better off than they were in their shitty countries. Not one should be released into this Great Nation until vetting is completed then they either stay or are released back to their countries.
