HAVANA TIMES, April 28 — A manatee and its offspring have been visiting the waters of Havana Bay during the last two weeks, indicating that the bay is recovering from its environmental degradation, said Yosvany Simón Gil, director of the government organization in charge of cleaning up and preserving the bay.

The main pollutants of Havana Bay have been hydrocarbons and urban wastes.  Today fish and birds are reappearing once again, reported IPS.
