Minor Quake in Eastern Cuba

HAVANA, May 30 – An earthquake of 3.1 degrees on the Richter scale, classified as low intensity, was felt in several areas of the southeastern province of Santiago de Cuba on Thursday, reported the local press.

According to the National Seismology Research Center, around 15 perceptible tremors occur on the island each year, most in the province of Santiago.

The Cuban authorities said there is no relation between the tremor and the earthquake that rocked Honduras on Thursday May 28.
