Panamanian Foreign Minister in Cuba
HAVANA TIMES, March 16 – Panamanian Foreign Minister Samuel Lewis is carrying out a working visit to Havana. Lewis plans to meet with the new Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez, and other top government officials.
The two countries are posed to sign a bilateral trade accord after several meetings and two rounds of bilateral negotiations that began in 2007, notes the Panamanian press on Monday.
In January, Panamanian President Martin Torrijos made his fifth visit Cuba.
The two countries restored diplomatic ties in August 2005, when President Torrijos attended the first graduation of Panamanian students in Havana’s Latin American School of Medical Sciences (ELAM).
