Raul Castro Receives Spanish Communist Party Leader
HAVANA TIMES — President Raul Castro, in his capacity as first secretary of Central Committee of Communist Party of Cuba, spoke with Jose Luis Centella, the general secretary of the Communist Party of Spain, reports the Granma newspaper.
The two leaders met on Saturday afternoon, when they agreed on the desire to “further strengthen the fraternal relations between the two political organizations,” and discussed other topics of interest, though these were not specified in the statement.
The Spanish Communist Party leader, who is also the spokesperson of the United Left in congress, is visiting the island accompanied by Deputy Albert Garzon and Gloria Aguilar, who is the secretary of International Cooperation of the Spanish party.
