Silvio Rodriguez Draws 80,000 in Mexico City Free Concert

HAVANA TIMES – Some 80 thousand spectators attended the free concert this past Saturday by Cuban singer Silvio Rodríguez in the Zocalo Square of Mexico City, reported La Jornada newspaper.

Meanwhile, the website of Radio Formula commented that fans of Rodriguez “came out very early to get a close up position to see one of the founders of the Cuban Trova and author of hundreds of songs that have made history in Latin America.”

Silvio dedicated the concert to the recently deceased troubadour Santiago Feliu, whose 52nd birthday would have been on Saturday.

This was the last show of his tour in Mexico, which also included the cities of Puebla, Guadalajara, Tijuana, Hermosillo and Monterrey.
