HAVANA TIMES, March 25 — The production delay in nine of the 39 sugar mills grinding in the current sugar harvest could endanger the results of this campaign, Cuba’s reported IPS. Despite the government’s investments, the breakages, production interruptions and organizational deficiencies have caused the poor yields of these sugar factories.

  • In order to have workable socialism the sugar mills should be owned primarily by employee associates through cooperative corporate enterprises on the Mondragon, Spain model.

The Cuban state could then own a significant but non-controlling portion of these corporations, and receive profit distributions on a quarterly basis.

Or, in order to have un-workable socialism, the sugar mills can continued to be owned 100% by the state and continue the traditional statist dysfunction.
