Exhibition of Cuban Innovators

HAVANA TIMES — Cuba’s National Association of Innovators of (ANIR), from January 11 to 13 presented an exhibition of their most important works — from the economic point of view — created in 2012.
Cuban workers in all sectors have been compelled to innovate and invent in order to keep production and service equipment from becoming paralyzed by any lack of spare parts that might arise owing to the difficulties imposed on the island by the US blockade, which frequently prevents the purchase new equipment or parts.
Presented at the ExpoCuba exhibition hall was a sample of the products that were manufactured thanks to the inventions by workers. These are presented to serve as examples for other Cuban companies that may have the same or similar problems.
In the early days of the revolution, Commander Ernesto “Che” Guevara, when serving as the Minister of Industry, called on workers to conserve resources and use their inventiveness to prevent the shutdown of production. This was what led to the emergence of ANIR, whose members work every day to prevent machines from becoming idle, providing solutions to the main problems as they present themselves.
