Cuba Prepares for International Wrestling Tournament

HAVANA TIMES — The 44th International Granma-Cerro Pelado Wrestling Tournament is scheduled to be held in Havana from February 11 to 17, reported the JIT website.

Sources with the Cuban Wrestling Commission announced that the nations signed up to date are Poland, the Dominican Republic, the USA, France, Argentina, Canada, Peru and Panama. However, in the next few days, confirmation of participation is expected from delegations from Germany, Venezuela, Honduras, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico and Italy.

According to the news note, this event represent an excellent opportunity for practice for Cuba as its top fighters are prepared for the upcoming Pan American Championships in April in Panama and a world match in Hungary in September.
