HAVANA TIMES — Ten new Cuban boxers have been added to the list of candidates for the national squad while three others have been removed, confirmed National Boxing Commissioner Alberto Puig today to the Prensa Latina news agency.

The box — Andy Cruz (49 kilograms), Juan Carlos Cordero (52), Alexei Guibert (56), Armando Martinez y Luis Oliva (60), Yoangel Moya and Kevin Brown (64), Osmay Bencomo (69), Angelo Morejon (81 ) and Yoandry Toirac (over 91) — will be competing for a spot in the World Youth Championship in Armenia in November.

In the cases of those stepping down — Daniel Matellon (60 kilograms), Carlos Banteur (69) and Emilio Correa (75) — the three men had been members of the island’s main team in several important tournaments.
