Cuba’s July 26 Event Live on Internet
HAVANA TIMES, July 26 — Monday is National Rebellion Day in Cuba, commemorating attacks on two garrisons back in 1953 that sparked the Cuban revolution that toppled the dictator Batista five and a half years later.
The Cuban press announced on Sunday that the keynote speech will be delivered by President Raul Castro. The ceremony will be broadcast live on Cubavision Internacional starting at 7:30 a.m. EST.
No mention was made on whether former President Fidel Castro would be present in the city of Santa Clara for the most important holiday on the Cuban calendar. The senior advisor to Raul Castro has made numerous public appearances over the last 18 days after four years of convalescence.
And from the other article, it appears that the cuban government is playing things down, in the face of the developing World crisis.
