Silvio Rodriguez Presents New CD

Cuban folk singer Silvio Rodriguez presented his latest CD, “Segunda Cita” (Second date) on Friday at the Casa de las Americas cultural center in Havana. Rodriguez performed songs from the album with top musicians including Robertico Carcasses (piano), Feliciano Arango (stand up bass), Oliver Valdés (drums and percussion), Niurka Gonzalez (flute) y Haydée Milanés (chorus).

Cuba-Venezuela Prepare ALBA Summit

The Bolivarian Alliance for the Americas (ALBA) will hold a summit on April 19 in Caracas, Venezuela. The announcement came on Thursday from Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolás Maduro when he spoke to the press after a meeting with Cuban Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas to discuss bilateral cooperation and projects in support of Haiti.
