Mario and Nara, Trapped in the Socialist Utopia

It was 1978 and Mario was in the fifth year of his Veterinary degree. He had a girlfriend who he was planning on marrying after graduating.

Lazara Karenia Gonzalez, a 28-year-old woman, is still being held in detention after taking part in the July 11th protests in Cardenas.

For their alleged participation in the civic July 11th protests the prosecution seeks Draconian sentences.

Six months after the events, we are seeing rigged trials in which long sentences are requested for those who protested peacefully.

In this work we show some of these signs and posters that exist today in Havana. Some are commercial others are political. (43 pictures)
