I’ve asked myself this question many a time and I can’t seem to find the answer. The UN General Assembly, which is made up of 193 Member States, can’t form binding agreements, or force its members to comply with them.

Despite the economic limitations created by the US blockade, uniforms could be made for all children and adolescents, which meant making 3.125 million pieces of clothing.

US Imperialism has attacked the Cuban Revolution on all fronts. As all of these attacks have crashed into an impregnable wall that is the Cuban people’s resistance, the Empire on the decline uses lies to justify its wrong and unjustifiable policy against the Cuban people.

The new Cuban Constitution came into effect in April, after going to a referendum vote and winning 86.85% of the vote in its favor. Changes contemplated in this document, relating to the State and government’s structure, are now underway.

I have just read a Facebook comment by a young woman who says she is Cuban and left Cuba for Ecuador, before finally arriving in the US. She dedicated the rest of her comment to criticizing Cuba’s political system.

I have never forgotten, nor will I ever forget the two people who used to live near my home, in the rural area I lived when I was 7-12 years old.

Smear campaigns against the Cuban Revolution began as soon as the popular uprising defeated dictator Fulgencio Batista’s armed forces, who were backed, armed and trained by the US to repress the Cuban people. Twenty thousand young revolutionaries’ lives were the price for freedom.

Developed capitalist nations can’t see that they are becoming isolated because the world is changing and it’s becoming harder and harder to deceive or forcefully subject people who are willing to defend their sovereignty and integrity.

As if 86.85% of the referendum vote (in favor of the new socialist Constitution) wasn’t enough, this May Day, Cubans sent a clear message to their enemies about what they want when millions of workers and their families joined parades in every square and street across the country, reaffirming the overwhelming support for the Revolution and its leaders.

The US blockade against Cuba, waged as an economic war and an obsession of persecution throughout the entire world, is a failed policy. Even Barack Obama knew that.
