Cuban MDs: 95% Approval from Brazilians

Ninety-five percent of the people served by the program “More Doctors” in Brazil said they were satisfied with it, according to a poll released Thursday by the government of the South American nation. The program is mainly staffed by Cuban physicians.

Cuba’s “Salsa Doctor”: “I Won’t Praise Fidel Castro”

Cuban singer Manuel González, popularly known as the Medico de la Salsa (“The Salsa Doctor”), declared in Miami that he has returned to Cuba to exercise his rights as a free citizen and that he is unwilling to sing Fidel Castro praises to be allowed to live peacefully in his country.

More Cubans Are Visiting the USA

Some 29,700 visas for family visits, educational, cultural or business-related trips have been issued to Cubans this year. The figure is close to setting a record in the issuing of temporary permits for travel to the United States this fiscal year. Another more than 17,000 have received immigrant visas.

Cuba Baseball 2014-15 Schedule Set

The Cuban National Series schedule has now been officially announced, with the season opening on September 21 and following the same two-part season structure as utilized the past two seasons. The first phase will involve all 16 league teams (each playing 45 games) and will end December 16.
