Manu Chao Concerts in Cuba for Che

HAVANA TIMES, Oct. 7 – French-Spanish rock singer Manu Chao arrives to Cuba on Tuesday night, invited by the Hermanos Saiz Cultural Association to give two concerts dedicated to Ernesto “Che” Guevara.

One of the concerts will take place on the sprawling stairway of the University of Havana along with Kelvis Ochoa on Friday October 9.   The other will be in Santa Clara where the remains of Che are kept at the monument dedicated to him.

Many Havana residents remember the spectacular concert by Manu Chau at the Anti-Imperialist Square in March 2006, where he presented an impressive band called Radio Bemba (Grapevine) Sound System, which put the audience on edge and called on those attending to sing of peace and liberty.
