British Council Extends Cooperation with Cuba

HAVANA TIMES, Feb 23 — The head of the British Council office in Havana, Frank Fitzpatrick, told Prensa Latina about that organization’s plans for future collaboration with the Cuban Ministry of Culture.

The British institution will provide a “business approach” and facilitate the creation of infrastructure with the aim of promoting “creative industries” on the Caribbean island through the development of small enterprises engaged in the arts.

Established in Cuba since 1998, the British Council is the UK’s leading organization for promoting educational and cultural relations with other nations. It has also devoted work to the defense of the arts and sciences.
