HAVANA TIMES, Sept. 25 — Two tropical storms, Ophelia and Philippe are churning in the Atlantic but neither of them pose a threat to Cuba.

Ophelia, barely a Tropical Storm with 40 mph (65 kph) winds, is just northeast from the Leeward Islands and moving on a  northwest track that will distance it from the Caribbean.

Philppe (45 mph winds) is located southeast of the Cape Verde Islands off the coast of Africa and is thus far expected to move northwest and then further north in the open eastern Atlantic in the coming days.

For a look at the projection cones of these two storms visit the site of the National Hurricane Center (NHC).
