Standstill in Bathroom Fixture Production

Production has been at a standstill since August at the bathroom fixture plant run by the Empresa de Ceramica Blanca in San Jose, in the province of Mayabeque. A delay in the import of gypsum has prevented the production of 20,000 hospital fixtures.

Cuba’s 4-Day Jazz Plaza Opens Tonight

The 27th Jazz Plaza festival opens Thursday night in the capital with a host of Cuban and visiting performers. The four days of concerts (Dec. 15-18) takes place in ten different venues (including one in Varadero) and also includes a program of workshops and conferences. The weather for the next seven days will be influenced by a high pressure system; therefore we’ll have generally good climatic conditions.
